Objectives

 

a) The main aim of ICEDC is to collaborate with government, educators, industry and community to create awareness, build and promote a structured career education and development ecosystem for inclusive human development in India and to enhance recognition, role and professionalism of career practitioners in India

 

(b) To develop strategic relationships between stakeholders in government, industry, sector skills councils, chambers of commerce and industry, professional bodies, academia and community and provide a collaborative quality framework to achieve common goals and shared vision

 

(c) To set benchmarks for best practice in the delivery of career development services,identify and share good practice

 

(d) To establish minimum professional standards and code of ethics for career practitioners

 

(e) To act as a registration body for career practitioners who meet competency standards; maintain a database of qualified professionals

 

(f) To build capability and professional practice among career practitioners by offering induction courses, ongoing professional development program using smart technology

 

(g) To assess the skill development needs of the sector. Design, develop and deliver training packages, train the trainer programs for career practitioners and maintain database of master trainers

 

(h) To accredit and certify formal qualifications that are offered on-line, by distance education or face-to-face delivery through recognised national and international education providers. ICEDC will also maintain updated list of such programs

 

(i) To encourage applied research to inform policy on integrating career development in curricula, workforce development and share the findings to all stakeholders through appropriate mechanisms

 

(j) To collate, diffuse and disseminate unbiased, updated, credible information on labour market, future trends, skills shortages through:

                 i.    Newsletters, books, brochures, manuals and other literary matter;

                 ii.   Website, webinars, digital and social media platforms;

                 iii.  Seminars, workshops, conferences, 

 

(k) To leverage partnerships with the international career development community and facilitate access to ongoing professional development and mobility for members for mutual benefit

 

(l) To take part in or conduct joint meetings and joint conferences with similar associations both nationally and internationally in the furtherance of the career development industry
