Philosophical underpinnings, theoretical foundations, dynamic knowledge base, leading edge techniques, expanded skill sets, attitudinal shifts are needed to embrace the new paradigm in career education and development.  ICEDC is managed by the Identity and Career Education Foundation , a Non Profit Organisation incorporated under Section 8 of Company Rules 2014 and Section 7 of the Companies Act.  CIN is U74900MH2015NPL269670. 

 

ICEDC works with teachers, counsellors , social workers, trainers to provide  a broader range of pre-service and in-service education and a support system that prepares them to offer quality advice and training, reliable and ethical guidance on any issue relating to career transition of young people.  ICEDC framework enables parents to work with the school community to guide their children effectively to make informed education and career choices that will impact their future positively.  ICEDC also liaises with government and industry to create a conducive ecosytem through policy setting, legislation, recognition of the critical role of careers practitioners and providing access to labour market information systems to drive a demand driven career service model that meet industry needs. 

 

ICEDC partners with organisations in India and internationally, to leverage good practices, policies, standards, systems and processes, that could assist in building a high quality sustainable solution for India.

 

History

 

ICEDC was initiated by Global Education Solutions in April 2014 with support of the Australia India Council to create awareness and demand  for career education and development in schools.  After extensive stakeholder consultation, ICEDC was established to meet the needs of school based career practitioners.  The vision was to create a conducive platform for government, industry, academia and community to engage with schools in a practical and meaningful way, to enhance the capability, professionalism of career practitioners in India, inorder to help every young person leaving school have knowledge, skills, confidence to self-manage their career journey and have a successful, happy and balanced life.

 

The Australia India Council's purpose is to broaden the relationship between Australia and India by encouraging and supporting contacts and increasing levels of knowledge and understanding between the peoples and institutions of the two countries. It furthers the Australian Government's foreign policy and trade objectives and adds value to Australia-India relations.
